When Finances Feel Overwhelming

Finances are challenging to navigate for most. Finding a balance of spending and saving looks different for each individual.

Questions like,

“How many times is it reasonable to run to the coffee shop?” or “Should I be saving for a house?” run through my mind more often than I’d like to admit.

Everyone’s story looks different. However, in all things, it’s important to look to the word of God. I’ve found much wisdom in reading through the book of Proverbs or 1 Timothy, when it comes to praying through financial questioning or reasoning. It’s easy to get caught up in the game of comparison; I am guilty of it myself.

Looking around at all of my friends buying houses, having kids, or even simply going on extravagant trips, I wonder if I’m behind or if there’s more I can be doing to get ahead. Through the tribulation, the Lord will guide you as you lean on him— yes, especially when it comes to your money.

Start slow, seek guidance from others who have walked in your same shoes.
