Making Your House Home

When I moved into my first big girl apartment away from home, I realized something… I don’t enjoy taking out the trash or killing the random spiders in my home. I knew all of these before, but becoming the primary owner of a trash can that needs to be emptied and protector of a spider-free home brought a whole new light to these. With all the blessings that come with having your own space to love and cherish, there come the not-so-fun responsibilities.

Moving out is more than just gaining freedom; it’s also about finding your own rhythm and routines. If you’re anything like me, you try to avoid any toxic products in your home. You enjoy homemade cleaning solutions with vinegar and lemon juice, wool dryer balls, and reusable cleaning clothes. All of these little details play a role in building my home.

Some tips that I’ve learned…

  • Make your bed every morning

  • Make your own laundry detergent… It’s super simple!

  • Pray over your home— always

  • When it comes to decorating, find your style— not just what is trending

There are numerous ways to incorporate these small details into your life. From putting scripture on the walls or renter-friendly decorating additions. Each of these has brought me so much joy.
